Another Brick & Ab Workout
Time for another bike, run workout tonight, so I decided to do the same workout as last week – 10 minutes on the bike, followed by 10 minutes on the treadmill, repeated three times.
I must say, I felt stronger on the bike tonight and was able to push a bigger gear for a longer time. The treadmill was good too, and I was able to crank up the speed and increase the incline quite dramatically.
The hour went surprisingly quickly and it was nice to finish off with a 10 minute ab workout – week 3/workout 3 comprising of Hip Ups, Reverse Crunches, Crossover Oblique Crunches, Crunches: legs up with several Supermen to finish.
Rest day tomorrow and then I’m looking forward to a couple of solid runs on the weekend.

Sounds great Steve!
What is that thing on the back of the bike called? I know it’s to allow you to do your biking indoors and was looking for something like that when I start my bike workouts. I imagine there are different types from a basic model to more advanced and everything in between.
Keep up the great training,
Charlie
You know what? The photo I used was just a generic bike trainer – not quite sure which model it is.
I bought a basic “magnetic” indoor trainer about 7 or 8 years ago and it’s still going strong.
There are 3 main types of trainer where the rear wheel is locked in place: magnetic, fluid and wind. Check this link for more details:

For more skillful riders (i.e. not me), you can also buy bike rollers which take great balance but really help with your bike handling skills. More details here:

I’ll have to watch out or I’ll need to rename this blog to Ride Bulldog Ride!
Thanks for the question,
