Midweek Update

Monday: Nice easy run to work out the aches and pains from Sunday’s long run.

Tuesday: Excellent Cheetah Fast treadmill workout. Haven’t done this one for a while and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Full details on this 45 minute challenging workout can be found here.

Wednesday: Typically I would take it easy the day after an interval workout and run another quality effort on Thursday, but with the Distance Series 30k coming up on Saturday, I decided to treat myself to a couple of easy days before the race. With this in mind, I loaded up the Cheetah Fast DVD and did exactly the same workout as Tuesday….

February is going well and I’m currently on my 66th consecutive day of running without a rest day. Not a bad effort and at the moment I don’t feel like I need to stop the streak.

The 30k on Saturday is the 3rd race in the “Tune-Up Series” for the Shamrock Marathon on March 22nd. I’m not planning an all-out effort as there’s a half marathon on Sunday that I’m thinking of running. I ran the Colonial Half Marathon last year and really enjoyed the event. Not sure how wise a 30k/13.1 mile weekend combo is, but I’ll see how Saturday’s race goes first.

That’s all for now. It will be nice to run easy tomorrow and Friday and hopefully my legs will be well rested for the weekend.
