McMillan Custom Marathon Plan: Week 3 Day 1

Week 3, Day 1
Phase: Base
Workout: 30 to 50 Easy Run
Purpose: Build Endurance
Working from home today so planned on an easy lunchtime run to save time this evening. However, it was storming outside, the rain was lashing down and I was in no mood to risk getting struck by lightning. Luckily I have a treadmill option, so upstairs I went for my 40 minute run; nice gentle 2% incline and a comfortable pace to simulate an easy run.

Nothing major to report except the power going out after about 35 minutes. The lights flickered once or twice before the treadmill shut down, so at least I was able to prepare myself for the abrupt end to the workout. Push ups tonight (Week 4 Day 2) and in case you’re wondering, no I haven’t forgotten about yesterday’s Muddy Buddy race. I’ll write up a short report later, but for now I have to get back to work…
