Cayman Marathon Countdown – Day 7

Day 7 of the Cayman trip already. It’s amazing how time flies when you’re just relaxing and enjoying yourself. I’m pretty sure I could definitely get used to this chill way of life.

No running to report unfortunately – still don’t want to risk making the upper thigh situation any worse. I’ve been icing a plenty and performing a little bit of self-massage with the Addaday roller, but it’s difficult to be patient when the marathon is only a few days away.

I did manage a pain-free 3 mile walk on the beach with Ally this morning, however, so maybe things will be okay when I attempt another run. Rum Point tomorrow perhaps? Tempting. Very tempting.

I’m also kicking myself for not packing any compression shorts. Who knows, the extra support might have been useful on race day. I’m sure I can pick something up at the one and only sports store in Grand Cayman on Saturday after packet pickup, so something to keep on the back burner if things don’t improve.

Anyway, enough of the doom and gloom. Whatever will be will be, and I’m still looking forward to lining up at 5am on Sunday for my 9th consecutive Cayman Islands Marathon. 3 days and counting!
