Record Numbers For 2009 Shamrock Marathon

The 37th Annual Yuengling Shamrock Marathon, which will be held March 21-22, 2009, has reached a record high 22,000 participants between its Marathon, Half Marathon, Towne Bank 8K, and Operation Smile Final Mile. All 50 states and 9 countries will be represented when the runner’s approach the start line.

Race Director Jerry Frostick says,

Our goal at Shamrock has always been to put on the best event not just the biggest. The result and response has been overwhelming.

Enjoy your race. I’m pretty excited about the fact that it’s sold out. It goes to show how much people care about their health in a down economy. I hope this will give Va. Beach a boost before the tourism season. Maybe I’ll see you there!

Another comment just b/c I typed in my web site wrong. Still not used to that…
