Far Gone Greetings: Cards For The Addicted!
Far Gone Greetings is a great web site selling “cards for the addicted”. The site is the brainchild of marathoner/triathlete Victoria Primicias who, in 2007, attended a runner friend’s birthday party and bemoaned the dearth of cards that had any relevance to their common interest.
After this happened several times, lightning struck. Victoria decided to launch Far Gone Greetings with the unique goal of celebrating the obsessive-compulsive behavior that seems to go hand-in-hand with people’s passions.
A marathon veteran, Victoria understands the mental fortitude it takes to run 26.2 miles. She also recognizes the seeming insanity of this feat for spectators and novices.
“Cards for the Addicted” soon became the company’s tagline, saluting with humor and empathy the sweet surrender of someone in the midst of a passionate endeavor.
Card categories include gone swimming, gone cycling, gone on a diet, gone to the dogs, gone to the gym, gone running, gone to the tri and gone to yoga.
Think my favorite is “The Illiotibial Band” (pictured above left), but there are many other classics too, including The Novice Swimmer (that’s me in lane 5!).
