A Sluggish Nine Miler

Struggled a bit tonight and was glad to get back home for a shower. My knees felt a bit sore and my right foot bothered me a little - I probably looked a right site hobbling along (that’s how I felt anyway). It’s either the extended Kara Goucher workout I did the other night coming back to haunt me or I’ve missed my daily Tissue Rejuvenator more than I thought I would.

I ran out of my favorite anti-inflammatory a couple of weeks ago and by the time UPS delivered a new batch, I’d been without for the best part of three weeks. If I were sensible I would have popped out to the local drug store and picked up a generic brand to tide me over, but I didn’t so I went without and now my joints are hurting.

Another factor could be that I’ve run every day in June apart from June 1st, so tomorrow will be a forced rest day and I’ll probably go for a bike ride instead. Does riding a beach cruiser count? I hope so….

Nothing exciting to report tonight. Mile splits varied from 8:00 (the first one) to 7:09 (the last one) and none of them felt easy. Luckily there was no push ups to do tonight, just ten minutes of core strength work. I’m glad it’s the weekend!

Hi Steve, nice blog mate, hope the aches & pains come right. Could be time for some new shoes, though i thought you could get up to 500 miles out of them? I like you taste is shoes also. I have some Supernovas also.

Hey Bruce,

I usually max out at around 450 miles on Supernovas and actually picked up a new pair yesterday. My legs aren’t feeling as sore today, but I’m still going to take a day off from running.

Nice blog yourself…going to add it to my blogroll soon.

All the best,

–Steve
