Phase: Pre-Marathon
Workout: 35 to 45 minute Easy Run
Purpose: Build Endurance
Back at the house I treated myself to another 15 minute ice bath. I truly believe the cold water helps my legs recover and with an unplanned 5k to race tomorrow I need all the help I can get.
Splits: 7:46 7:21 7:30 7:29 7:27 7:27
Tomorrow’s race is the East Coast Surfing Championships 5k; just one of the many beach oriented events that make up North America’s Oldest Running Surfing Competition and the second oldest continuously-run surfing contest in the world. The race usually attracts many of the best local runners and always guarantees a fast boardwalk finish. Should be a good challenge….
