Week 10, Day 4
Phase: Marathon
Workout: 40 to 60 minute Easy Run
Purpose: Build Endurance
Should have been a tempo run tonight, but I decided to switch it with Saturday’s 10k (Hurricane Hanna permitting of course). Actually my legs felt somewhat back to normal today - the first time since Sunday’s half marathon. Hopefully I’ll be ready to race some Saturday morning.

Stats for tonight: 5.5 miles in 40 minutes.

I also completed Week 3/Day 2 of the Hundred Push Ups plan as part of my quest to regain some of the strength I’ve lost over the last couple of [lazy] weeks. The workout wasn’t spectacular, but I got the job done:

Actual: 27 19 19 15 25 (105 total)

Steve,
I found out you modified the push up plan. Why, what’s up?

J.S.

Hi J.S.,

Thanks for the comment. I sent out a mass email the other night to all the people I have on file explaining about the changes.

Here’s an excerpt:

“Based on the enormous amount of feedback received over the past two or three months, I’ve spent many an hour fine-tuning, tweaking and updating the six-week program. Many of you felt that the plan had too many “tough” spots and the jump to certain weeks were too severe. Along with several very helpful push ups people, I’ve personally spent the last four or five weeks creating and testing a better six-week challenge. The rate of progression should be smoother but the results just as impressive. Remember, attempting the hundred push ups challenge is no mean feat, and it will definitely test you to your limit. Hopefully the improvements will be well received. If you’re halfway through the program and looking for the original plan, Weeks 1 through 6 are still available for a limited time at the following locations:

http://hundredpushups.com/o_week1.html
http://hundredpushups.com/o_week2.html
http://hundredpushups.com/o_week3.html
http://hundredpushups.com/o_week4.html
http://hundredpushups.com/o_week5.html
http://hundredpushups.com/o_week6.html

Thanks for understanding and please continue to provide feedback on both the new and old six-week programs.”

Hope that helps,

–Steve
