Christmas Running Gifts

I was lucky enough to receive some great gifts for Christmas this year – several of which will be very useful in the upcoming winter training weeks. Ron Hill has been a leading producer of performance apparel since 1970 in the UK, so the hat and gloves I received will last for many years to come.

The stretchy gloves are made of lightweight polyester, ideal for training and racing and are the brightest yellow I’ve ever seen – perfect for the early morning/evening training runs I’ll be doing very soon.

The beanie hat is also lightweight, fits great (isn’t too big and bulky like many of the hats available) and features the Ron Hill logo and reflective silver band for safety. There’s also a neon yellow band
around the bottom of the hat.

However, the most useful gift I received was the Nathan Reflective Wrist Runner – a lightweight, wraparound wallet for money, keys and I.D. It’s lined with terrycloth for comfort and the reflective trim is supposedly 100-200 times more visible than non-reflective clothing in low-light conditions! It’s amazingly comfortable and perfect for carrying a house/car key, emergency cash and I.D. They even include a waterproof I.D. card for carrying in the wallet.

With 2008 fast approaching, I don’t really have any more excuses not to be out running in the mornings and running at night.

What was your favorite Christmas running gift and/or gadget?
