AfterShokz Trekz Titanium

I’ve been using the AfterShokz Trekz Titanium for several months now, and the transition to wireless headphones has been a great one. For years I’ve owned and used the classic iPod Shuffle paired with various “sports” earbuds; Bose, Sony, Senso, Sennheiser – you name it, I’ve probably tried it. The Shuffle for the most part has been a great music player, but it is susceptible to corrosion and malfunction, especially during the hot, humid summer running conditions here in Virginia. My current Shuffle is one of those waterproofed models, and to be fair, it’s lasted really well. However, I kinda grew tired of the wires, so sometime last year decided to switch to a Mighty Music Player and wireless, stereo headphones combo.

Mighty

The “Mighty” is a portable music player designed to sync with and stream your Spotify playlists. It started as a Kickstarter campaign and features wireless syncing, 1,000+ song capacity and up to 5 hours battery life. It’s drop and water resistant and uses standard or Bluetooth headphones. Pretty cool really.

After testing out a couple of pairs of wireless earbuds, I soon decided on the AfterShokz Trekz Titanium which are lightweight, extremely comfortable and feature a unique bone conduction technology making them a really safe alternative to traditional sport headphones.

Multifunction Button

Pairing with a device is straightforward, and they work pretty flawlessly both listening to music on the Mighty and making and receiving calls on my iPhone.

Aside from the basic volume/power buttons, most of the functions are activated by a triangular multifunction button on the side of the Trekz Titanium. This button allows you to perform many different commands with just a single click or two – useful when you’re listening to music or when you’re on a call.
