Easy Friday Five Miler

Just an easy run this afternoon which ended up being a little over 5 miles in distance. The weather was dry and cool (high 40’s) with a fairly blustery wind at around 17mph making for pretty good conditions. My slowest mile was the first one, followed by 4 miles all around the 7 minute per mile pace. No problems with any aches and pains, but I’m still feeling a little sluggish. This will probably last a week or two, so I have to be patient before I step up my pace and/or intensity.

The week’s been pretty productive with 3 runs, 2 bike rides and a little core strength work. It’s great to be back! Here’s the stats from today’s run:

Hey Steve,

Nice week of workouts! What kind of core strength are you doing? Are you still doing your sit-up program?

I’ve been pretty slack on my training the last week…been recovering from a cold…but I think I need a bit of a break.

Happy Holidays,
Charlie

Hi Steve,
Sounds like you’re doing quite well with your workouts since your hiatus. That’s great!

Got the same question as Charlie. Was curious to hear more about your core strength workouts…..

C & C,

Thanks for the comments. I’m just following a fairly basic 6 week program from the book “Essential Abs”. I’ve just completed week 1, which to be honest was quite easy and not very stressful at all. Week 2 looks more challenging and then I add more exercises in week’s 3 and 4.
I’m just looking to build basic core strength with this plan, but am looking to start a full body strength program in the New Year.

Thanks for asking, and let me know if you need more specifics!

–Steve
