Another Seven Miler

Didn’t have the chance to run during my lunch hour today, so went for an easy run after work instead. The temperature this evening was a crazy 70°F, but the strong 18mph wind made it feel a fair bit colder than that. No matter, it was nice to be able to run in shorts and a t-shirt and leave the hat and gloves behind.

I felt quite good during yesterday’s seven miler and felt no after effects from Sunday’s 22 mile run, but today was a different story. The first 3 or 4 miles were okay – I even managed to pick up the pace each mile – but my legs started to feel heavy somewhere in the 5th mile and I decided to back off the pace and run easily back to the house.

It’s probably just an accumulation of the last 9 training weeks, but my right shin and right foot were a little sore tonight. Maybe it’s my mind playing tricks on me as the Shamrock Marathon draws closer?

Not sure if this will impact my planned treadmill run tomorrow night, I guess I’ll see how I feel tomorrow..

Here are tonight’s stats, courtesy of my Garmin GPS and MotionBased web site:
