<strong>Week 13, Day 7</strong><br />
<strong>Phase:</strong> Marathon<br />
<strong>Workout:</strong> Long, Steady Run: 90 minutes<br />
<strong>Purpose:</strong> Build Endurance and leg resistance to fatigue

<div id="mcmillan2"><a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FVR1UG?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=cymru66-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=B000FVR1UG"><img border="0" src="http://www.runbulldogrun.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/fourminutes.jpg" class="rightimage"></a>Left it a little late in the day for my Sunday run, and ended up running on the treadmill (again). I&#8217;m not a huge fan of long runs on the &#8216;mill; anything more than an hour is usually too much to handle. Today, however, I decided to watch the classic &#8220;<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FVR1UG?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=cymru66-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=B000FVR1UG">Four Minutes</a>&#8221; movie to help pass the time.</p>
<p>&#8220;<a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FVR1UG?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=cymru66-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=9325&#038;creativeASIN=B000FVR1UG">Four Minutes</a>&#8221; is the true inspirational story of amateur runner, Roger Bannister, and his record-breaking feat of running the first sub-four-minute mile in 1954; thoroughly enjoyable, inspirational and a perfect length for my 90 minute run.</p>
<p>Logging just under 50 miles, this past week has served as a nice recovery period for me. I feel fresh and look forward to step it up over the remaining seven weeks of the McMillan Custom Marathon Plan. Also for the first time in several months, I don&#8217;t have any shin pain after a Sunday long run. Thanks Coach McMillan for the 90 minute run today!
